The softly raised, slightly upturned saddle motif is repeated across the outer wall in a more contemporary rhythm, giving the dripper a sculptural surface with depth and movement.

Within DragonFly’s design story, the saddle motif also connects the dripper to the Year of the Horse, carrying wishes of stability, success and a prosperous year.

Original coral-shaped grooves for a faster flow path

Inside the dripper, DragonFly introduces an original coral-shaped groove structure. Twelve long grooves are evenly distributed from the rim to the base, while eight curved short grooves branch outward from the main channels like coral. This structure is designed to accelerate water flow and support efficient extraction while keeping the brew path open and responsive.

The eight branching forms also carry a visual reference to the Chinese expression 八方来财 — “wealth arriving from all directions” — linking the functional groove pattern with the product’s cultural design language.

Ring-shaped base for the Transit switch system

A raised ring runs around the outer edge of the SA62 base, allowing it to pair with DragonFly’s Transit switch base. This expands the dripper beyond conventional pour-over use, giving the brewer the option to move between percolation and immersion-style brewing with the same ceramic body.

In the original design concept, the circular ring also represents 圆满 — completeness or fulfilment — adding another layer of meaning to the functional structure.

Designed to work with DragonFly’s conical support system

For conventional pour-over use, the SA62 can also be paired with the DragonFly Bamboo Conical Dripper Holder together with the matching SA62 silicone ring for a stable brewing setup. The ceramic body is heat resistant up to 120°C and is suitable for microwave, dishwasher and dish-dryer use.

Natural characteristics of ceramic production

The ring-shaped base requires a different mould and production process from DragonFly’s earlier conical drippers. A fine mould-parting line or slight raised trace may therefore remain around the base after firing. Dark glaze tends to conceal this line more strongly, while lighter glazes reveal more of the ceramic texture and surface detail. Small pinholes, dark spots, rim traces or other minor firing marks can also occur naturally in ceramic production and are not considered functional defects.

Features and Highlights

New bone china ceramic body

62° conical geometry

1–2 cup capacity

Compatible with V60-style Size 01 / 02 conical filters

12 long internal grooves with 8 curved coral-shaped short grooves

Groove structure designed for faster water flow and efficient extraction

Ring-shaped base compatible with DragonFly Transit switch base

Supports both percolation and immersion-style recipes when paired with the Transit switch base

Compatible with DragonFly Bamboo Conical Dripper Holder and SA62 silicone ring

Top diameter: 112 mm

Base diameter: 34 mm

Height: 73 mm

Ceramic heat resistance: 120°C
