A Limited Edition from the ORIGAMI with Makers Project

The ORIGAMI Dripper S Rinko [Limited] is part of the ORIGAMI with Makers Project, a series created to share the culture of Japanese craftsmanship through ORIGAMI products.

ORIGAMI began with the idea of being “with Barista” — developing tools for those who continue to pursue a better cup of coffee. With the with Makers Project, ORIGAMI extends this philosophy beyond the coffee bar, collaborating across regions, materials, and craft traditions to create objects that carry the story of their makers.

This second chapter is themed around ORIGAMI × Beppu Bamboo Crafts, bringing together the world of Mino porcelain and one of Japan’s long-established bamboo craft traditions.

Rinko — Inspired by Beppu Bamboo Craft

Beppu, in Oita Prefecture, has long been known for its bamboo craft. The region is blessed with a warm, humid climate and generous rainfall, allowing high-quality madake bamboo to grow abundantly.

Historically, Beppu also developed as one of Japan’s most famous hot spring towns. As visitors came for touji, the practice of travelling to hot springs for rest and healing, bamboo craft became part of daily life — used for baskets, tools, bath items, and other everyday objects.

Among the traditional bamboo weaving techniques is rinko-ami（輪弧編み）, a method formed by overlapping circular arcs. The technique creates a structure that feels both light and strong, with open spaces that allow light, shadow, and air to pass through.

The Rinko collection takes inspiration from this craft language and translates it into coffee tools for the modern table.

A Colourway Inspired by the Ageing of Bamboo

Fresh bamboo often begins with a pale green or soft beige tone. Over time, as it is exposed to light and air, it slowly changes into amber, golden brown, and deeper earthy shades. With use, the surface gains a quiet gloss and becomes more personal to its owner.

The Rinko colourway expresses this natural ageing process through ceramic glaze.

Developed by Koyo Ceramics over approximately two years, the colour uses a kiln-changing glaze and spray-finishing technique to create soft gradation and depth. Because the glaze moves and reacts in the kiln, each dripper has its own subtle expression.

No two pieces are exactly alike.

Designed to Pair with the Rinko Collection

The Rinko Dripper was developed as part of a coordinated limited collection that also includes the Beppu bamboo dripper holder [Rinko-ami] and the Sensory Flavour Cup [Rinko].

When used together, the ceramic dripper, bamboo holder, and cup create a quiet harmony between natural material and porcelain. The warm, organic tones are inspired by traditional craft, while the overall impression remains modern and refined.

The dripper can also be paired beautifully with a glass server, especially in warmer seasons, where the contrast between translucent glass, ceramic glaze, and bamboo craft creates a light and elegant brewing scene.

ORIGAMI Brewing Performance

While the Rinko edition carries a special craft story, it keeps the familiar brewing performance of the ORIGAMI Dripper.

The 20-fold interior structure supports excellent drainage and airflow. With a conical filter, the folds create air channels between the paper and the dripper wall, encouraging faster flow and a clean, transparent cup.

With a wave-style filter, the brew bed becomes flatter, changing the extraction dynamic and often producing a fuller, rounder cup.

This flexibility allows one dripper to support two distinct brewing styles.

Holder Recommended

A dripper holder is strongly recommended for stable brewing.

The ORIGAMI Wooden Holder, ORIGAMI AS Resin Holder, and the limited Beppu Bamboo Dripper Holder [Rinko-ami] are suitable options, sold separately. A holder helps stabilise the dripper and prevents it from sitting too deeply into the server or cup during brewing.

Orders are processed and dispatched Monday to Friday, excluding Dutch public holidays.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information where available.

Delivery times shown below are estimates after dispatch and are not guaranteed. Delays caused by carriers, customs clearance, local authorities or other circumstances outside our control may occasionally occur.

Orders Outside the European Union

Import VAT, customs duties, brokerage charges and other local import fees are not included in our prices or shipping charges unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout.

Any such charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the recipient.

Customs procedures may also extend the estimated delivery time.

Incorrect or Incomplete Delivery Address

Please check your shipping address carefully before completing your order.

If a parcel is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, refusal of delivery, or failure to collect the parcel, additional shipping costs may apply before the order can be sent again.

14-Day Right of Withdrawal – EU Consumers

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you normally have the legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without providing a reason.

The 14-day withdrawal period starts on the day after you, or a person designated by you, receives the goods. If one order is delivered in several shipments, the period starts after receipt of the final item.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, please inform us within this 14-day period through our online withdrawal function or by contacting us at info@kohiraifu.com and clearly stating that you wish to withdraw from your purchase.

Please include your order number whenever possible.

After notifying us of your withdrawal, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

For change-of-mind returns, the direct cost and risk of returning the goods are the responsibility of the customer. We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service and keeping your proof of shipment.

Condition of Returned Products

You may inspect a product to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, similar to what would normally be possible in a physical shop.

Please return the product complete, including its accessories and, wherever reasonably possible, its original packaging.

If a product has been handled or used beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it and this results in a reduction in value, we may deduct the corresponding diminished value from the refund.

Refunds During the 14-Day Withdrawal Period

For a valid withdrawal of the complete order, we will refund:

  • the purchase price of the returned products; and
  • the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option originally available for the order.

Additional delivery charges resulting from choosing a more expensive delivery method, such as express shipping, are not refundable.

If only part of an order is returned, the original delivery charge is not refunded.

The direct cost of returning the order to Kohiraifu is the responsibility of the customer unless the product is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or we have agreed otherwise.

Refunds will be made using the original payment method. We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or until you provide evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.

Voluntary Returns – Up to 30 Days

In addition to your statutory rights, Kohiraifu may accept eligible products for return for up to 30 days after delivery.

Returns requested after the statutory 14-day withdrawal period are part of our voluntary return policy and require prior approval.

For returns between day 15 and day 30:

  • The product must be unused, complete and in resalable condition, preferably with its original packaging.
  • The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs.
  • Original shipping charges are not refundable.

We reserve the right to decline voluntary returns that do not meet these conditions.

This voluntary return policy does not limit any statutory consumer rights.

Coffee, Matcha, Food & Consumable Products

Certain statutory exceptions to the right of withdrawal may apply to products that deteriorate or expire rapidly, or to sealed products that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once their seal has been broken.

Opened coffee, matcha, food products and other consumable products cannot be accepted under our voluntary return policy once opened or used.

This does not affect your rights if the product supplied is faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise does not conform to your order.

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Products

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at info@kohiraifu.com.

Please include:

  • your order number,
  • a description of the issue, and
  • photos or video where this can help us assess the problem.

Please keep the product and its original packaging until we have reviewed the case.

Where the product is confirmed to be faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, Kohiraifu will arrange an appropriate solution and cover reasonable return shipping costs where a return is required.

Your statutory warranty and conformity rights are not affected by this policy.

Exchanges

If you would like a different product, colour or variation, please contact us first.

Depending on the product and stock availability, we may arrange an exchange or ask you to return the original product and place a new order.

Wholesale & Business Orders

The statutory consumer cooling-off period does not apply to purchases made for business or professional purposes.

Wholesale and other B2B returns are therefore subject to separate conditions and require prior written approval from Kohiraifu.

This does not affect claims relating to products that were damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied.
