This tote bag carries a quiet imagined world where onsen (温泉), coffee (珈琲), and cultural memory meet.
At its centre, a dripper rises above a mountain spring, letting water fall into the onsen below. The image draws from Beppu (別府) — the birthplace of CAFEC — where hot springs are woven into daily life and water is treated with deep care, guided by temperature, rhythm, and time. That same sensibility lives in hand brewing: water as the beginning, paper as its path, and flavour as its quiet unfolding.
Along the mountain trail, figures move upward in silence. The climb is not a struggle, but a form of attention — a path toward warmth, balance, and stillness. What waits at the summit is not triumph, but arrival.
Originally developed from the visual world of the Dutch CAFEC Brewers Cup 2026 poster, this artwork now takes on a quieter form — something to carry in daily life, like a small reminder of slowness, clarity, and care.
What is The Onsen Trail?
The Onsen Trail (湯の道) is an artwork shaped by several things we hold close: the calm ritual of Onsen (温泉), the precision of pour-over coffee, and the meeting of Japanese and Dutch coffee culture.
The composition brings two places into the same landscape. On the left is Nijmegen, the place where we live and gather in the Netherlands. On the right is Beppu, where CAFEC was born, and where mountains, water, and hot spring culture remain part of everyday life. Between them runs the trail — a path of movement, exchange, and quiet transformation.
Rather than presenting coffee as performance, this piece sees it as a quiet practice: a way of noticing, refining, and returning to what matters. Like onsen rising from a spring, or water passing carefully through paper, everything here moves with patience.

For orders placed outside of the European Union, the prices listed are exclusive of VAT. Returns
Within the EU, you can return any order* within 14 days (14-day cooling-off period) without providing a reason, and you will receive a full refund, inclusive of the shipping cost to an EU destination.
Beyond the initial 14 days, you may typically request a partial or potentially full refund. Our return policy spans 30 days, accounting for holidays. Please note that shipping costs will not be refunded in such cases after 14-day cooling-off period.
If 30 days have passed since your purchase, regrettably, we cannot offer a refund or exchange.
*To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused and in the same condition as received, including its original packaging.
The seller will cover the cost of return postage only if the item is damaged, faulty, or doesn't match the listing description.
For other reasons, the buyer is responsible for returning the product at their expense.
Kindly note that certain goods, such as perishable items like food and coffee beans, are exempt from return.
